T&Cs apply: Pricing includes VAT. Data only pricing excludes all line rentals. Data + ADSL Line pricing includes ADSL line rental but excludes landline rental. Line speeds quoted are best effort and represent "up to" speeds. MWEB reserves the right to enforce its Acceptable Use Policy. Default billing plan is set to Booster based billing, once you've reached your data cap your internet will be paused and you will need to purchase a data booster to continue using the internet. If you have selected out of bundle based billing, you will be charged 6c per MB once you reach your cap and continue using the internet.

Landlines are installed exclusively by Telkom. You have to have a landline to get an ADSL line.

About ADSL

What is ADSL?

ADSL is a fixed line connection to the Internet via copper telephone lines.

There are two players – the infrastructure provider (Telkom) and the data provider (MWEB). Telkom exclusively lays the copper lines and you have to have a voice line to get an ADSL line. Data is provided by an ISP (Internet Service Provider). MWEB is an ISP.

ADSL is made up of two parts – data and line speed.

Data is measured in Gigabytes (GB). The higher the number, the more data you have.

Speed is measured in Megabits per second (Mbps). This is the speed at which your data will be carried across your connection. The higher the number, the faster the speed

It's a more stable and effective way to connect with fewer interruptions, especially when consuming content like YouTube, online gaming or downloading files.

What is Uncapped ADSL?

Uncapped ADSL is a type of ADSL account that has no data cap. This means that you can use the Internet without ever reaching a cap. Remember that behaviours are subject to fair usage guidelines to restrict those who abuse the network.

What is Capped ADSL?

Capped ADSL is a type of ADSL account that has a set data limit available for you to use per month. Once you reach this cap, your Internet access will be paused until you either purchase a booster data bundle, or if you have chosen an out of bundle billing package where you will be charged per MB used over your cap.

Capped VS. Uncapped – which should you choose?

It all depends on what you are planning to do online and how you feel about managing your data. The good news is that MWEB is here to help you work out the best product for your needs. If you are an online gamer, your needs will be different to someone who just checks their mail.
