SA Team to compete for a share of $1mil in COD Champs

ESL SA Qualifier.JPG

A South African team has been granted a place in in the Call of Duty Championship, which will see 32 teams from around the world competing for a share of a $1 million prize pool in Los Angeles between 5-7 April 2013. To make this more auspicious, this will mark the first time, that we are aware of, that a South African Call of Duty console team will play overseas.

This comes on the back of attempts made for the past 2 months to get into the competition and just when it seemed all hope was lost, the Public Relations Manager at Megarom Interactive received an invitation on 7 March.

Since then, Megarom, MWEB GameZone and the ESL have teamed up to make sure that the correct processes are in place for us to make this event happen in time to make the deadline of 19 March 2013 for finalizing the team.
