The 2015 MWEB GameZone Masters Series is Now Live

MWEB GameZone is pleased to pull the curtain back on the 2015 MWEB GameZone Masters Series

Following a successful 2014 season which saw the Call of Duty community on console play for cash and prizes, this season is set to surpass that with an additional title and even more cash.

This year, Counter-Strike on PC joins Call of Duty on Xbox One and sees players competing over the two titles for a grand total of R84,000 in cash. The season will take in online qualifiers and a LAN grand final that will feature both titles.

Each title will feature two online qualifiers with teams in each qualifier battling for their share of R10,000 in cash. The top four in each title will then head to Cape Town to play for their share of R22,000 in cash (and the title of MGMS champions) at a LAN event.

All the online qualifiers will have a limit of 64 teams (first come, first served) and registrations will be open for around three weeks in each case.

The tournaments will be double elimination brackets and teams will be expected to complete their allocated matches over a period of about four weeks. You can expect a regular schedule of match streams and tournament articles over the duration of the Masters Series.

Registrations

The good news is that registrations for the first Call of Duty Advanced Warfare qualifier are now open. Each team must register 4 players, and may also submit two substitutes. However, no players are allowed to register for more than one team.

Registrations will close on 22 May and matches will kick off on 25 May, with the finals of the first Advanced Warfare online qualifier being hosted on 21 June.

The registrations for the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive qualifier will open on 11 May 2015.

Prizes

The top three teams will bag the following cash prize in this qualifier:

  • 1st Prize – R5,000
  • 2nd Prize – R3,000
  • 3rd Prize – R2,000
