The Grand Finale has seen a change in dates, from the original announcement of the MGMS Series, due to the up and coming RAGE weekend that will be held from the 10th-12th of October.

Format

The Call of Duty: Ghosts MWEB GameZone Championship tournament will be played in two parts; a 1 - groups stage and 2 - a Double elimination bracket.

1) The Group Stage

The group stages will see 32 unseeded teams divided into 8 groups, with each group containing 4 teams. The group stages will be run in a round robin format, this means that each team will play their respective 3 opposition teams once. Only the top team will emerge from the group to go onto the second stage of the competition.

2) The Double elimination Bracket

The second stage of the event will see 8 invited teams that will join the 8 winning teams from the group stages to form the double elimination bracket of 16 teams. These 16 teams will battle it out against one another until we have 4 remaining teams. The final four teams will the qualify for the finals which will be held at the MWEB GameZone offices in Cape Town.

The 8 teams that will be invited into the double elimination bracket will be contacted in the weeks to follow.

The Call of Duty: Ghosts MWEB GameZone Championship tournament will be played only on the Xbox 360.

  • Registrations: Registrations will open next week
  • Group Stages: 6th September - 14th September
  • Double Elimination Bracket:  15th September- 26th September
