MWEB GameZone Freeze Frag tournament results

This past weekend saw some live action competitive Call of Duty: Ghost being played at the highest level, as teams across South Africa were battling it out against one another in the MWEB GameZone Freeze Frag tournament. Today we will be taking a look at the results of the tournament, where we saw two winners on the two respective consoles.

Xbox 360 Results

The Xbox 360 side of the Freeze Frag Tournament saw both the semi finals and Finals live streamed, where the first match to be streamed was between Team Origin and F34R Adept. The other match being played at the same time was between F34R TBG and Speed Black.

Team Origin vs F34R Adept

The semi final match between Team Origin and F34R Adept was expected to be a walkover for the boys from F34R, as they were coming off of several recent tournament wins. Team Origin, however, seemed to be ready for the challenge as they kept toe to toe with their opposition throughout the game. These teams proved inseparable as we went into the third map with the scores tied at 1-1. We thought that after the third map we would have a clear leader, but that wasn't to happen as the teams ended tied on score in blitz. This meant that the teams would have to replay the map, and after a tight ten minutes of play F34R Adept finally broke away in map count to take the lead. F34R Adept managed to use their momentum from their previous map win to hold out to take the map to move to the finals.

  • F43R Adept win 3-1 vs Team Origin
  • F34R TBG win 3-0 vs Speed Black

The finals would see an all F34R event as the two teams would be facing off against one another to claim the 1st place spot. F34R TBG were coming off the most confident of the two teams, as they completely clean swept their opposition in the semi-finals whereas Adept seemed shaken after their close game against Team Origin. TBG, however, didn't manage to transfer their confidence in the finals against Adept as they seemed to lose control of the game within the first five minutes. TBG couldn't find a way back into the game as Adept shut them down completely to take the finals and the title of Freeze Frag champions.

  • F34R Adept win 3-0 vs F34R TBG

PlayStation 3 Results
