In recent weeks there has been a bit of confusion regarding the planned Johannesburg LAN, where it was expected that several of South Africa's most played multiplayer games would all be played at one venue. Due to some unforeseen issues, the event was unfortunately cancelled. On the brighter side, however, we have managed to secure a venue for the Call of Duty console community, which will allow us to go ahead with the planned LAN for the MWEB GameZone Master Series.

Tournament Dates

  • Registration Opens:  7 July 2014
  • Registration Closes: 14 July 2014
  • Tournament Starts: 19 July 2014
  • Tournament Ends: 20 July 2014

The tournament will see 16 spaces up for grabs, with teams comprising of a maximum and minimum of 4 members. The tournament will be divided into 2 days of play. On the 19th of July we will have the group stages of the tournament where the 16 teams will be divided into a bracket of 4 teams. Each team will play one another once. We will then move to the double elimination bracket of play which will consist of the top two teams from each group.

In Closing

The Johannesburg (JHB) LAN for the Call of Duty competitive community was meant to form apart of a much larger event, that has unfortunately been cancelled/delayed. This left us with a difficult situation of having to change plans at the last minute to accommodate a community of players that have remained loyal throughout. What we are preparing for in JHB is entirely for the players of the Call of Duty competitive console players. We felt that it would be unfair to the players to completely cancel the LAN and especially to those whom made travel arrangements.

That being said, we cant wait to see the teams all participating once again in a highly competitive environment!
