MWEB GameZone's Ghosts Master Series Cape Town LAN Details

This weekend sees the kickoff of the MWEB GameZone Master Series Cape Town LAN, where we will have 20 teams battling it out at the MWEB MCave for a prize pool that totals over R16 000 in value. Today we will be covering some of the need to know information for the teams and spectators that plan on joining us on the 5th and 6th of April. So without further delay, lets get into the MWEB MGMS Cape Town LAN for 2014.

Fixtures 

There will be two sets of play for the MGMS Cape Town LAN, the first day (5th of April) of play will comprise mostly of the group stages, where as the second day (6th of April) will be a knock out phase only. The fixtures below represent the fist day of play where teams are required to be at the venue at least 30 minutes before their first game. The top 2 teams from each group will progress to the knock-out phase.

Day 1 Fixtures:

The fixtures above represent the matches on the 5h of April 

*Please note that Group 4 and Group 5 will play the fist knock out round at 19:30, this means that both teams will need to be at the venue at 19:00. Time, however, has been allocated if the teams wish to set up earlier. 

Day one will be played as a round robin within the groups, meaning that teams are scheduled to play a minimum of 3 games. Teams will play day one as a best of three maps, meaning that the team that wins 2 maps will be declared the winner of the individual match. 

Day 2 Fixtures:  

Teams that qualify are required to report to the venue at 11:00 on the day of the final 8. 

  • Quarter Finals: 12:00-13:30
  • Semi Finals: 13:30-15:00
  • Finals & 3rd/4th Playoff :15:00-16:30 

Teams that qualify for play in Day 2 will be notified after their fixtures are completed. Day 2 will represent the final 8 teams that will play in a single elimination bracket. The single elimination bracket will be played as the best of 5 maps, where the team that wins 3 maps will be declared the winner of the match. 

Team Requirements 

Teams are required to bring their own Call of Duty: Ghosts disc, headsets (with accompanying cables) and own controller for the event. This is very important so make sure it is the first thing that you pack when you leave your house. Teams are also required to report for their games at least 30 minutes before their game, but may come earlier and partake in the activities in our spectators and players area.  

Player Provisions 

All players will be allocated 1 meal on the day to settle the stomachs after a hard day of gaming. Should players find the need to crunch down on some more food and drink, their will be cash sales available with a wide selection of food to settle those rumbling tummies. 

Spectators 

All spectators are welcome! We will have a spectator area for players,teams, gamers and just general e-sports lovers. There is no entrance fee into the venue, meaning that you wont need to pay or play to take part in the action. Streaming 

Streaming of the finals will be brought to you directly from the MCave at the MWEB Gamezone offices, and hosted by Holden ZA on the second day who will be supplying running commentary in the final day of play.
