DOTA2 will have LAN support says Valve Project Boss

"Dota 2 will have LAN mode," project boss Erik Johnson told JoinDOTA.com.

Well, that is what a lot of South Africa players have been waiting to hear!  This is really great news for eSports, because this means that the game can spread from online to LAN games as well, furthering the possibility that DOTA2 will be taken seriously as a "competition" game.

The further good news is that Valve is going to be adding more servers to improve the ping. Erik Johnson had this to say "The solution is that we need to get more servers out into the world to host players. Our goal is for everyone around the world to have sub 100ms latency to our servers. We will continue to deploy servers around the world until this is true."

Wonder if their master plan includes South Africa?
