Call of Duty: Ghosts 1080p for PS4 causing framerate issues

In the past few weeks we have been hearing the console debate heat up, as one of the flag ship titles Call of Duty: Ghosts announced that PlayStation 4 will be playable in 1080p where as the Xbox One will only be native on 720p. This, however, has caused a question to rise up since the launch of Ghosts, being: Is 1080p for Call of Duty Ghosts coming with a cost to the PS4? Well it very well could be, as multiple sources are detailing technical and framerate issues on the PS4.

In a recent Call of Duty: Ghosts review from Polygon, they compared the framerate between the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 :

"Much has been said about the fact that the PlayStation 4 version of the game runs at a native 1080p, and while that may be true, the game did struggle to maintain a steady framerate, especially in hectic multiplayer matches. The PS3 version of the game ran into similar problems, whereas the Xbox 360 version maintained a steady 60 frames per second."

They were not the only ones to find issues with the next-gen console when attempting to run the latest title from Infinity Ward, as Giantbomb also picked up several framerate drops:

"Additionally, the PlayStation 4 version has a handful of noticeable dips in its frame rate. This usually seemed to happen when a lot of smoke or other effects were on-screen, but occasionally it occurred in multiplayer for reasons I couldn't even guess at. Judging graphics on a brand-new platform can be tough, since we don't have a lot to compare it with at this point, but I will say that I had hoped that it would look a little better across the board. Whether that says more about my expectations or the quality of the game will have to wait until we see more next-generation games in action."

It seems like the story of the resolution wars will still go on, but currently it looks like both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 are not without their own issues. How has your experience been thus far on Xbox 360 and/or PlayStation 3?
