Andrew Scott Reisse age 33 was killed by a speeding car. The car was driven by a 21 year old Victor Sanchez and two unnamed assailants. The three were involved in a criminal act that resulted in a shootout and speed chase. Andrew was crossing the road when he was struck, Victor hit two cars along the way and crashed, The three criminals were apprehended thereafter. The full story can be read on ABC, my condolences for the loss of a great man that brought us the next step in gaming. Below are some of the quotes given by the Oculus Team.

“Andrew was a brilliant computer graphics engineer, an avid photographer and hiker who loved nature, a true loyal friend and a founding member of our close-knit Oculus family.

Some of us have known Andrew since college, and have worked with him at multiple companies beginning with Scaleform in Maryland which he helped start at age 19, then at Gaikai in Aliso Viejo, which brought him out to California, and finally at Oculus where he was a co-founder and lead engineer.

Andrew's contributions span far and wide in the video game industry. His code is embedded in thousands of games played by millions of people around the world.

Words cannot express how sorely he will be missed or how deeply our sympathy runs for his family.

Andrew will always be in our thoughts and will never be forgotten. We love you, Reisse.”

The worlds thinnest gaming laptop:

“Never have I seen computer hardware so sexy”

Razer has unveiled the Razer Blade (sounds dumb when you say it out loud), a 14 inch beast with 6 hour battery life. A laptop thinner than a dime with specs that makes my tower seem like a joke. 8 Gigs of RAM, Nvidea GTX 765M, 4th generation i7 CPU and 512 Gig SSD.

May cost you a pretty penny, but if you like to stay mobile or just stupid rich, this might just be something you’ll be looking out for.

Double Fine launches new Kickstarter: Massive Chalice:

Massive Chalice is a tactical fantasy game made by the guys behind Iron Brigade, Brutal Legend and Psychonauts. The game will be directed by Brad Muir and the goal for the kickstarter is $725,000, currently sitting on $650.000.

The game is said to be a generational tactical game on an epic timeline. You play as a king waging war against a demon. You will have heroes that will help you in battle, over time, they will get older and die, however you can have them retire early have a family and their children fight for you.

Its a pretty cool idea and I look forward to the end result. They are close to reaching their goal with plenty of time to spare.
