This year marks the 10th anniversary of South Africa’s biggest gaming and technology expo; it will also be the first time I attend one. Take a tour with me and let’s find out what rAge 2012 has in store for us.
Win an arcade machine
I have an unhealthy fascination with having an arcade
machine of my own, I want one, I need one, I shall kill you for this one.
Ok I don’t know if it will be one of those two that can be
won, it’s but a wild guess I’m taking, since they are currently occupying space
in the NAG offices. Not much is known
about this prize of awesome, only that you will need lots of the above coins to
qualify for winning said arcade machine.
From the NAG Facebook page
rAge money. This is what 10,000 coins
looks like. These will be given out at the show through various methods
(haven’t nailed them all down yet) and you can use them on the NAG stand to win
an arcade machine.
From the official rAge webpage
Win an Arcade Machine on display at the NAG stand! NAG &
Eurasian Entertainment are giving away an Arcade Machine to one awesome
old-school gamer. All you gotta do to get your name into the draw is secure a
limited edition rAge/NAG 10th anniversary token from one of the gaming
retailers at the show, and play one of the games on the NAG stand and have your
high score recorded. Top score over the course of the weekend will win the
Arcade Machine.
I shall have my arcade machine or
death shall befall all who stand in my way.
Cosplay
I bet this is something everyone can’t
get enough of. Our local Cosplay talent is exciting, creative and simply gorgeous.
This is the Kalahari Cosplay team,
three girls and one brave man, strutting their stuff. Make sure to check out the local
talent at the Legion Ink Cosplay Contest. The competition is sponsored by Corex and will take place on the main stage on Saturday between 11h20-12h20. There will also be random Cosplay fanatics wandering around at
the Dome for us to feast our eyes on. I heard a rumour that one Darryn “Yobatenda”
Bonthuys, the Batman wannabe from Lazygamers will be giving free hugs in his
newly acquired batsuit. Make sure to give him some love.
Tshirt Terrorist
Gaming and T’s go hand in hand, it is also something that is
impossible to find in the twilight zone I call home. This stall will definitely
take all my money. Take a look at the Terrorist’s website for some T-shirt eye
candy of note.
Apparently, the more you buy the cheaper it gets :S I see a
problem Houston.
