Devil May Cry 5 Microtransactions

It is a tad surprising to hear that a game like Devil May Cry 5 will have microtransactions, but it isn't unheard of. The Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition also had microtransactions. This news comes from the game's Director, Hideaki Itsuno, speaking to GameSpot in an interview.

So what's the reason for adding microtransactions to a game like Devil May Cry 5? Well, it's one we've all heard before and boils down to giving players options. Mr Itsuno explained that:

"With giving people the ability to purchase Red Orbs, it’s something we want to give people as an option. If they want to save time and just want to get all the stuff at once, those people can do that. But on the other hand, I don’t feel you have to get all the moves. You should be able to play it the way you want to play it."

Microtransactions in a game an action, single-player game like Devil May Cry 5 shouldn't really be too impactful and sure, if you want to, you can open that wallet up and buy some stuff. I, for one, am still just as excited about the game now than I was yesterday. However, we all know how dirty that word "microtransactions" is for many gamers.

We will just have to wait and see how it all turns out on 08 March 2019 when Devil May Cry 5 releases on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

What do you think about the fact that Devil May Cry 5 will have microtransactions and does it bother you at all? Let us know in the comment section below.
