The highly-anticipated PS4 exclusive, Marvel’s Spider-Man, will release on 7 September 2018 and after Marco’s hands-on with the game at E3, it has skyrocketed to the top of my must-play list for the remainder of the year.

We already know the game went gold late last month and this week we also found out that the game would take an average of 20 hours to complete, but that number could rise significantly if you complete a tonne of side activities. One thing that a lot of gamers always want to know about a game before its release is if there will be DLC if that DLC would be paid content and what we can expect from it.

Insomniac Games’ Community Director, James Stevenson, has now shared their post-launch content plan for Marvel’s Spider-Man’s on the official PlayStation blog. The DLC is called The City that Never Sleeps and it will come in three parts to be released from October to November this year, featuring new missions, challenges, enemies and suits.

As you play the base game, you’ll realize that Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, is back in town and she’s leaving clues around town to toy with Spider-Man. In Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist, she finally reveals herself. Featuring new missions and challenges, as well as a brand new faction of enemies and three additional suits to unlock, you won’t want to miss it.” - Source

Check out the release schedule below:

  • October 23: Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist
  • November 2018: Marvel’s Spider-Man: Turf Wars
  • December 2018: Marvel’s Spider-Man: Silver Lining

At the time of writing, the DLC isn’t available on the South African store just yet, the price for each part of the DLC is $9.99 or if you decide to purchase full DLC package, it will set you back $24.99. For South African gamers who are going digital, there is a cheaper option.

The standard digital version goes for R1069 and for only R130 more, you get the entire DLC package with the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, as the store page indicates you get all three chapters when you purchase or upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition.

What do you think about the content plan for Marvel’s Spider-Man and how excited are you to do everything a spider can in September? Let us know in the comment section below.
