World of Warcraft’s massive new expansion, Battle for Azeroth, released yesterday and while most players are taking their time to level up, playing through the story and generally just having a relaxing time, some find their enjoyment in trying to reach the new level cap (120) as fast as possible.

Gingi, a member of one of World of Warcraft’s top guilds, Method. Gingi, with the help of two other teammates, managed to reach the level cap in four hours and 17 minutes and claimed the title of world first level 120 in the process. Gingi’s Boomkin holds the record for the fastest level 120 character for now, but we all know there will be many others who try to beat this record as time goes by.

Even so, his name is now etched into World of Warcraft history. It should probably take average players who don’t rush through the levelling experience over 20 hours to reach the level cap. What makes this achievement even more impressive is that judging by the Twitch.tv stream, no exploits or weird shenanigans were used.

Obviously, the team did practice levelling up during the beta and found the best possible questing route to achieve this. For those who have some time on their hands, you can check out the entire levelling up process archived in thisTwitch.tv channel, but please be warned that there are obvious spoilers in the video.

Gingi managed to reach the level cap nearly two hours ahead of other players attempting a speed run, so clearly, not all heroes wear capes.

What do you think about this world first achievement and how has your levelling been going so far in Battle for Azeroth? Let us know in the comment section below.
