Code Vein Delayed to 2019

Code Vein was looking great at E3 2018 but maybe it was not as great as the developers wanted it to be. It seems that they need more time to work on things in order to make it exceed fan expectations. Originally planned for a September 2018 release, the game has now been pushed into 2019 with no release date or window, just 2019.

The team plans to take the time to dedicate efforts in development to deliver a higher-quality game that can surpass expectations. Bandai Namco Entertainment America Vice President of Marketing, Eric Hartness, sent out a press release with the announcement. One of the deciding factors was the positive feedback the team has received about the game and they want to make it even better.

“CODE VEIN has received an enormous amount of positive feedback from eager fans who have received hands-on time with in-development versions of the game over the past nine months. Armed with knowledge of how well the game has already been received, we made the decision to postpone the release of CODE VEIN to further refine its gameplay in an effort to exceed the expectations fans already have of the title. It was a difficult decision to make, but we feel it is the correct one.” The press release stated.

The game was originally set for a 27 September 2018 release date for Japan with a Western release for the day after that on 28 September. The release date was also just announced last month so to delay a game so close to its release date announcement is strange.

We also saw this happening with Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom last year, published by Bandai Namco too, the game received a release date at E3 2017 to only be delayed a month later to January 2018. Seems to be a Bandai Namco way of handling things.

You can check out the latest trailer but ignore the release date at the end, we have established it is not happening.
