Monster Hunter: World - Official PC requirements, price list, release date and new trailer

Capcom announced the official PC requirements and customization features for Monster Hunter: World alongside the release date announcement and a brand new trailer. Capcom's best-selling game will release via Steam on August 9, with future content and updates planned for later release.

"In Monster Hunter: World, follow the journey of the elder dragons as they begin their once a decade migration across the sea to a land known as the New World in an event referred to by inhabitants as the Elder Crossing," announces Capcom. "As part of the Guild’s Research Commission, players must embark on a grand journey to this massive, mysterious land and uncover the secrets behind this phenomenon. As hunters set out on their quests, the Commission’s sights are set on Zorah Magdaros, a colossal elder dragon that rises from the earth like a volcano."

Yesterday, some of the PC requirements leaked, below are the confirmed specs with a few additions from that previously listed.

Monster Hunter: World - Minimum PC Requirements

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: WINDOWS 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-bit required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460, 3.20GHz or
  • Processor: AMD FX-6300
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics NVIDIA: GeForce GTX 760 or
  • Graphics AMD: Radeon R7 260x (VRAM 2GB)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 20 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectSound (DirectX® 9.0c)
  • Additional Notes: 1080p/30fps when graphics settings are set to "Low"

Monster Hunter: World - Recommended PC Requirements

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: WINDOWS 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (64-bit required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4GHz or
  • Processor: Intel Core™ i3 8350 4GHz or
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics NVIDIA: GeForce GTX 1060 (VRAM 3GB) or
  • Graphics AMD: Radeon RX 570X (VRAM 4GB)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 20 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectSound (DirectX® 9.0c or better)
  • Additional Notes: 1080p/30fps when graphics settings are set to "High"

PC players will also be able to customize various controls like the Radial Menus, screen mode, resolution, and v-sync to name but a few. There are also high-end graphical settings for those who have a monster PC. Additionally, you can also choose to play with a gamepad or with keyboard control.

Monster Hunter: World - Steam Pricing

Pre-purchase the Standard Edition for R999 to unlock two extra items; the Origin Armor Set, and the Fair Wind Charm. The Deluxe Edition will cost you R1 163.72 (currently at 6% discount), and with it, you'll unlock the previous two items, as well as the Samurai Set, three Gestures, two Stickers, Wyvern Face Paint, and the Topknot Hairstyle.

All pre-purchases include:

  • Origin Set: The Origin Set armor is a nostalgic must-have for series fans. This full armor set (head, chest, arms, waist, and legs) comes with enough defense to carry you through the early quests, and also features plenty of skills useful for gathering.
  • Fair Wind Charm: The Fair Wind charm carries a skill that increases your attack power, and one that adds a chance of reducing the damage you take. The charm also has a nice visual impact, as equipping it will add a glowing aura effect to your left arm!
  • Samurai Set: Layered armor sets will change the look of your armor without changing the properties underneath. Equip this Samurai set over your favorite armor to take on the striking appearance of a feudal Japanese samurai warrior! Note : No weapons are included with this set

Digital Deluxe Edition (all the above plus)

  • Enjoy three new amusing gestures you can use when interacting with other players in the game: Zen / Gesture: Ninja Star / Gesture: Sumo Slap
