All your June 2018 video game releases

Games of June 2018.jpg

June is an exciting month in gaming with one of our most anticipated games of 2018 releasing in the first week, as well as one of the best racing games we've ever played.

Nintendo Switch users get the B.J. Blazkowicz treatment for the first time, and PC, Xbox One, and Switch users finally get to play Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Also, those with a Jurassic Park fascination get to construct their own Jurassic World dinosaur theme park. Mind those fences people!

Vampyr

Release date:  05/06 WW

Platforms: PC, PS4 & Xbox One

Genre: Action role-playing

Mode: Single-player

Age Restriction: M 17+

Rated for: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, Use of Drugs

Description: Dontnod proved with the Life Is Strange franchise that they can tell amazing stories, and in Vampyr they will continue to build on that success by bringing in more gameplay mechanics that further enhances immersion and that strengthens the story. We know that in Vampyr you will not play the traditional role of a vampire, but that you will rather be a monster that is acutely self-aware. Every life you take in Vampyr matters as it will impact the story and life in the city around you.

The player has two main options for choosing victims; investigate the lives of citizens, or hunt at will. If you prefer the second approach, then keep in mind that if you focus too much on one section of the city, then it can lead to a total collapse of that district. As your character evolves, he unlocks powers that are even feared by the undead of London. These include "Abyss" which is the power to unleash the "shadows from within," whatever that might mean. With the "Rage" ability Reid can attack groups of enemies while in a terrible fury. The premise of Vampyr rests on the balance of dualism within Dr. Reid. He can become the most powerful vampire in London, but at a terrible cost.

Jurassic World Evolution

Release date: 12/06 WW

Platforms: PC, PS4 & Xbox One

Genre: Business simulation

Mode: Single-player

Age Restriction: TBA

Description: There will be multiple parks across multiple islands to manage, and players will have to contend with the ever-present threat of corporate espionage. Besides having the time of your life constructing your own Jurassic World dinosaur theme park (yes, research facilities included), you’ll also have to keep an eye out for things like a fence breaking down and you know how that story goes. It won’t be a real Jurassic Park sim if players weren’t able to dabble in bioengineering to create the perfect dino, so that’s another box you can tick. Your goal is to create five-star parks across the five islands of the Las Cinco Muertes Archipelago.

The Crew 2

Release date:  29/06 WW

Platforms: PC, PS4 & Xbox One

Genre: Racing

Modes: Single-player, multiplayer

Age Restriction: T for Teen

Description: (From our hands-on with the demo). Ubisoft has now built three different racing experiences into one game. The Crew 2 goes from the ground to the water, and then to the sky. The most amazing part of it all is its seamless transition between the two. You will see in the gameplay video below how quickly I am able to change between driving a car, flying a plane, and sailing a boat over a lake. I could then combo it all together to seamlessly do all three one after another. If you love the classic Need for Speed type gameplay mechanics then you will love the Crew 2. It also manages to bring to life a great arcade-styled setting with a unique visual engine that brings the world to life like never before. The game is utterly gorgeous, and given that it is set across the USA, you will have so much to see and do.
