Monster Hunter: World gets new 16-player raid, map, mode and new gear today

I have not touched Monster Hunter: World in about a month. After completing the main game and farming a bit for some materials I moved onto other things but this new content is going to see me returning faster than ever. Today Monster Hunter receives a brand new update that will add some great new content to the game that includes a new monster and a new mode to fight this said new monster in. Rally your friends together because this beast is not going to be taken down easily.

According to Capcom, the new free event will see players pursue the Elder Dragon Kulve Taroth. Killing monsters in the game means new gear and this monster is no different. He comes with a whole set of things to build. The way you will fight him is a little different to what you have experienced so far in the game. He will be fightable only in the new Siege mode.

Capcom describes the new Siege mode as;

“Siege is a brand new limited-time quest type which requires the collaborative efforts of all hunters in the same Gathering Hub (which can house up to 16 hunters). Each hunting party will split off into groups of up to four hunters each, but will be working together to investigate and hunt down the same Kulve Taroth.”

“As each hunting party collects more tracks and breaks off more parts from attacking Kulve Taroth, they’ll contribute progress to the same Siege. This new quest type is designed and balanced for multiplayer, so call up your Squadmates, or join up a dedicated Kulve Taroth lobby, and make sure to coordinate with other hunters if you want to earn the best rewards.”

The only issue is that this monster will not be in the game forever as this event will be added to the rotation as other events have in the past. Capcom released a glimpse of the gear you can make and it looks pretty cool if I do say so myself. The update for the game will be live sometime today along with the Kulve Taroth event so when you get home from work you can dive right in. Check out the trailer below to see the Elder Dragon in action.
