Windows 10 Spring Creators Update delayed due to blocking bug

According to Windows Central, Windows 10's next major update (Version 1803) that was supposed to roll out yesterday has been delayed because of a "blocking bug" - a bug that is serious enough to block an update.

The update, also known as Redstone 4 and the Spring Creators Update, includes the new privacy settings that give Windows 10 users further control over what data they allow the Operating System to collect and send to Microsoft. The feature is called the Windows Diagnostic Data Viewer and provides more information about the data Windows 10 collects. It is also probably one of the most important and anticipated features of the Redstone 4 update.

You might've noticed that Windows 10 did get an update yesterday, but it was a security update for the Adobe Flash Player.

"This security update resolves critical vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player that is installed on any supported edition of Windows Server Version 1709, Windows Server 2016, Windows 10 Version 1709 (Fall Creators Update), Windows 10 Version 1703 (Creators Update), Windows 10 Version 1607, Windows 10 Version 1511, Windows 10 RTM, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1, or Windows RT 8.1," announces Microsoft.

The update fixes a serious issue as "Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user," explains Adobe. The bug also allows information disclosure. If you block your Windows 10 updates, then you should allow this one to run, find more details here.

Adobe also recommends users to update their Adobe Flash Player, while Microsoft warns Windows 10 users not to install any language packs after the security update because you then have to download the update again, so rather install any language packs before your run the Security Update.
