Rumour: Assassin's Creed Dynasty leaked

Assassins Creed Dynasty.jpg

According to PlayStation Universe, a former employee of Technicolor leaked the title of the Assassin's Creed game to them in an exclusive interview. Technicolor has worked on projects like Call of Duty, FIFA, and Resident Evil, to name but a few.

The former Technicolor employee supposedly work on the game's animation, and told PSU it will be titled, Assassin's Creed: Dynasty. The word "Dynasty" in turn suggests a setting of either China (perhaps during the rule of the Ming dynasty 1368–1644), or Japan (Yamato Dynasty). China is most known for their ruling dynasties.

Assassin's Creed: Chronicles had a China chapter with a female protagonist, Shao Jun, who was a member of the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins. She also featured in the 2014 Assassin's Creed animated short movie, Embers. It tells the story of Ezio's final chapters, and how Shao Jun, a former concubine, became his protégé.

I have to point out that PlayStation Universe at first said their source was am employee at Technicolor who claimed that he or she was currently working on Assassin's Creed: Dynasty. They later updated the article to stated that the leak was a former Technicolor employee.

In October last year, the above concept art was leaked by a Ubisoft employee, suggesting that the next Assassin's Creed game would be set in feudal Japan. If a new Assassin's Creed game is indeed set in either China or Japan, then it could make for very interesting scenarios and combat.

Ubisoft still has to confirm when they will release the next Assassin's Creed installment, but my guess it is that we won't hear any official news until 2019.
