Over 100,000 PUBG cheaters banned in one wave

Over 100,000 people are receiving permanent bans in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. The development team announced on their blog that investigating and identifying cheaters has been their highest priority since the release over version 1.0. Throughout the past few weeks, developers discovered a new pattern of cheats in action and this led to the devs performing a thorough gameplay review over 10 million players and tens of millions of data logs.

"Through this exercise, we were able to identify over 100,000 instances of the new pattern related to use of cheat and now we have confirmed that it was clearly an attempt of compromising our game. These players will be permanently banned in a single wave." This move is a different one from the legal action taken against Chinese cheaters who were recently arrested on charges of illegal cheating software for the game.

"We will continue to check the data logs like this even if it means the anti-cheat team has to filter through hundreds of billions of data logs manually. In addition, we are looking into adopting a new solution to detect and ban more cheaters and we have been continuously strengthening our security systems. We have also liaised with investigative authorities in some countries to take legal actions against developers and distributors of cheats. We are determined to take strong measures against them going forward."

If anything, PUBG developers are determined to get this cheating under control and if it means banning players and arresting ones making and selling cheating software then so be it. In the next coming weeks, the game will also be updated with improvements to the death cam as well as blue zone rebalances that will improve the game.

As much as the developers are trying to gain control of the cheating problem, players are still determined, and rather angry about China still not being region locked. Players want China to no longer be able to matchmake with gamers in the West due to the cheating problem and the sheer amount of it. Until this is done then we doubt anything that is done will make them happy.
