Stardew Valley Multiplayer Mode Teased: Shows off 4-player co-op

I am a newcomer to Stardew Valley as I just picked it up on my Switch a few weeks ago. To say that it is addictive would be an understatement as it truly replaced that addictive nature of Animal Crossing in my life. For those who have never played Stardew Valley before, you take on the role of a farmer as you grow your farm to be a success. The world is filled with unique people, quests, and mysteries to solve all while making sure your cabbage gets watered once a day. It is an awesome game, I won't deny and one thing I have always imagined for it is multiplayer. Imagine being able to walk around your farm and have your friends help you chop down trees, plant beans and even fish for sardines in the ocean down the road.

Well, all my dreams could be coming true as the creator of Stardew Valley, Eric Barone, tweeted an image showing off the multiplayer action with the words "I'm finished with the new content and have shifted all my attention to getting multiplayer ready!". He also mentioned that the image was showing off a 4-player Stardew Valley LAN party at his house and that it is "really" fun, which I could believe.

While the game is still a while away from actually getting multiplayer, Eric says that even though it needs work, the underlying network code is solid. "Being in the same room and yelling at each other about what to do next, or if anyone has any stone, is great fun. Can't wait to share this" he added. If I were you, I would take this as multiplayer is coming to Stardew Valley soon. If anything, the game just suits it and it would be pretty cool to play.

While multiplayer is still a work in progress, Eric did announce a while back that Stardew Valley will receive an update that will add more outdoor decorations as well as a new town event. This new content is set for release when the multiplayer mode is done and will release alongside it. Stardew Valley is out on basically every gaming platform under the sun that includes Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One, Mac, Linux, and PS Vita
