Top 30 games to buy on the PlayStation January Sale

January PlayStation Sale.jpg

The January PlayStation Sale is one to keep your eyes on. It comes at possibly the worst time as you probably have no money due to the festive season and with it comes every single game released on the platform at fantastic prices. It is the devil sale (said with a southern accent) and if you are eating bread and 2-minute noodles then you should avoid this sale completely. While the sale started in late December while we were on a break, we did not get a chance to highlight the best games available to buy and with nothing new this week added to the store, it was the perfect time to do so. Here are thirty games that you should buy on the PlayStation Store's January Sale.

1. Horizon Zero Dawn - R399 (read our review)
2. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection - R189
3. Star Wars Battlefront II - R549 (read our review)

While Star Wars Battlefront II got off to a rocky start with heavy in-game purchases, within a week of its launch EA canned them all while under pressure from Disney. I bought the game during its sale on the 12 Days of Christmas and I have to say I am loving it. No purchasable loot boxes make it a joy to play and its single player and multiplayer both offer some fantastic Star Wars action.

4. GTA V - R469
5. Injustice 2 - R549 (read our review
6. Middle-earth: Shadow of War - R699 (read our review)
7. Battlefield 1: Revolution - R399

The best thing about the Revolution edition of Battlefield 1 is its inclusion of the premium content too. This means that you will not be limited to what maps you can play on at all. If anything, it should be the only edition of the game you look at today as you would hate to be matchmaking and you cannot play with your friends because you lack the content.

8. The Sims 4 - R549 (read our review
9. Assassin's Creed: Origins - R699 (read our review)
10. Ark: Survival Evolved - R629 (read our review
11. Watch Dogs 2 - R289 (read our review
12. NBA 2K18 - R629 (read our review)
13. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition - R329 (read our review)

There is no doubt that The Witcher 3 should be experienced by all players and its Game of the Year Edition is the ultimate experience as it packs all the expansions and all the patches in one game. If you have a PS4 Pro then you will be happy to know that the game just got patched with 4K HDR support so the already-gorgeous world looks better than ever.

14. The Surge - R399 (read our review
15. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - R469 (read our review
16. Nioh Complete Edition - R549 (read our review
17. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - R469 (read our review

There is very little I can say about this bite-sized Uncharted experience that has not already been said but if you are looking for something to escape away to then perhaps this is it. Set in the gorgeous lands of India, the game follows the story of Nadine and Chloe as the search for an ancient treasure. Most of all the game is simply the most gorgeous experience on PS4 to date. If you have a PS4 Pro with a 4K HDR TV then your eyes will just melt at the visuals brought to life across the game.

18. Bloodborne Game of the Year Edition - R329
19. South Park: The Fractured but Whole - R549 (read our review
20. The Evil Within 2 - R399 (read our review)
21. Dark Souls III - R329
22. Rise of the Tomb Raider - R329 (read our review)

Yet another perfect game for your PS4 Pro. Rise of the Tomb Raider boasts several visual enhancements for the Pro with a higher frame rate, better visual and higher resolution mode. Not to mention that it is also the best edition of the game as it includes a VR experience as well as all the DLC and some exclusive DLC too.

23. Project CARS 2  - R629 (read our review
24. Just Cause 3 - R159
25. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider - R215 (read our review
26. Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection - R329

With three awesome Assasin's Creed games packed into one collection and all remastered for PS4 Pro in native 4K, the Ezion Collection is the best way to experience the great trilogy set in Italy. Assassin's Creed II is without a doubt my favourite entry in the series and I highly recommend all latecomers try it out.

27. Resident Evil 4 - R145
28. Titanfall 2 - R289 (read our review
29. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen - R249
30. Knack II - R399 (read our review
