The Evil Within 2 to get PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhanced

Yesterday, after making my way through the terrifying survival-horror experience that is The Evil Within 2, I finally delivered my verdict. The game is a big step up from the original and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience on my PS4 Pro.

However, I did have some gripes about glitches and FPS slowdowns as noted in the review. On the game’s product page on the official PlayStation website, it does say “PS4 Pro Enhanced” but for the life of me, I couldn’t see any enhancements or even performance gains. That’s because the game is, in fact, not PS4 Pro Enhanced at the moment.

Instead, the developer is working on a PS4 Pro and Xbox One X patch for The Evil Within 2. The news comes from the Bethesda community forums, where community manager jurassica responded to fan concerns about the game not having a PS4 Pro patch, stating that:

We're working on an update for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. When we have more information, we'll happily update you. Thanks!” - Source

No other details about the patch were revealed, such as release date or actual enhancements. 4K is all the rage right now, so I’m assuming it should be something like 4K support, but the thing I am hoping for is a 100% stable frame rate since the game already looks very good.

For those who are holding off to play the game on the Xbox One X, don’t forget that the console’s release window and price in South Africa were recently announced.

What type of enhancements do you hope to see with the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X patch for The Evil Within 2? Let us know in the comment section below.
