The Witcher 3's 4K update coming 'soon' to PS4 Pro, Xbox One X to follow later this year

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was one of the greatest games of 2015 and to this day, I haven’t found an RPG that surpasses CD Projekt RED’s masterpiece. Marco reviewed the Game of the Year Edition last year in September, calling it “Almost Flawless”.

Well, it looks like we might just replay The Witcher 3 again soon, as CD Projekt RED will be releasing a 4K update for the PS4 Pro. Since the Xbox One X isn’t out yet (and we don’t know when it will release in South Africa), the 4K update for Microsoft’s powerful console will be coming later this year. The news comes from CD Projekt’s financial results, which you can view at the bottom of this article.

During the financial results video, CD Projekt’s president, Adam Kicinski, said that: “We've prepared a 4K version which will be available on PlayStation Pro in just a few days and by the end of the year it will be available on Xbox One X”

Since then, the developer has clarified the statement a bit. According to Eurogamer, CD Projekt RED’s senior PR manager, Radek Adam Grabowski, has downplayed the “just a few days” statement a bit and explained that: “PS4 Pro and Xbox One X: both technical updates are coming. More details about them, including the exact moment when they will be released, are something we are going to announce when the right time comes.” – Source

At the time of writing it is not known when exactly the 4K update for The Witcher 3 will arrive on the PS4 Pro, but as soon as it does, I’m sure the game will take over our lives for a few weeks yet again.

Will you be replaying The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt when it’s 4K update hits? Let us know in the comment section below.
