PC gamers all over the world are going completely nuts over Destiny 2. Yes, it is the first time the series is ever headed to PC, and that means that the game will get some notable "PC things". If you missed the reveal, check out our guide on everything you need to know about the game. While the console versions and PC version will be almost identical in terms of gameplay, the PC version will have some graphical tweaks. According to the official game's description in a press release, it highlights the features that PC gamers can look forward to when the game releases.

  • 4k Resolution Support (3820×2160)
  • Uncapped framerate
  • Full mouse and keyboard support with custom key mapping
  • Text chat
  • Adjustable Field of View
  • Detailed PC settings screen
  • 21:9 monitor support

Looks pretty great if you ask me, and it might sway me to play it on both PS4 and PC. Speaking of PS4, if the stream was anything to go by last night, the CEO of Activision confirmed that the guests at the event would be playing on PS4 Pro in 4K, as well as PC. This was a clear indication that the Pro console might also have a few graphical upgrades to look forward to. Imagine Destiny 2 in 4K with HDR on the PS4 Pro!

PC gamers who planned on buying the game on Steam however, are in for a rude awakening. Bungie announced that the PC version of the game will only be available through the Blizzard Launcher. So if you play Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, or anything else on the launcher, expect to see a Destiny 2 option there soon. In a way this partnership makes sense as Bungie is under Activision's control and so is Blizzard, so why would they give any other platform the game to distribute?

Taking about distributing the game, it seems that Destiny 2 will not make its 8 September release on PC. According to PC Gamer, Bungie is determined to get the console versions done before the PC version, which means that it could be a week difference or even a few months. Who knows?

"We're not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie we're totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can," Smith said. "Our partnership with Blizzard and being on, we want to make sure that this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it's a delicious piece of bread when it comes out."

Destiny 2 is due to release on 8 September for PS4, if you have not noticed Xbox One, and PC whenever it is done I suppose. Will you be playing this on PC? Let us know in the comments below.
