Sony reportedly unsure if there will be a PS5

It's starting to feel like Sony is trolling just a little bit. In March rumours surfaced about an upgraded PlayStation 4, and, two days, ago even more rumours were piled on the existing ones, code name Neo and all. Yes, the PlayStation 4K or PlayStation 4.5 will supposedly be called "Neo." We even have specs detailed for Neo, yet not a word from Sony to confirm its existence. The latest bit of news on Sony's plans for the next console, whether it's an upgrade or a new console, comes in the form of confirmation (kind of) from Sony Computer Entertainment President, Shuhei Yoshida. Mr. Yoshida conveyed his doubt as to the existence of a PlayStation 5 to Game Informer’s Lorne Lanning.

"What does the PlayStation 5 look like?’ asked Lanning. "You mean if…’ "Whoa. Are you willing to say that on stage?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, it’s an if.'”

Perhaps that "if" for the PlayStation 5 is because of the upgraded PlayStation 4. Who knows? There is no spoon, I mean upgraded/new PlayStation. We think it's there, yet it isn't. If we grind the rumour mill hard enough we'll believe both exist, or not...

I hope Sony gives us some solid news soon. What would your choice be: an upgraded PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or can Sony please just continue to roll out updates for the current PlayStation 4 and let that be it for another few years.

We've covered PlayStation "Neo" in detail here. Digital Foundry released a video with documented prove that Neo does exist. They even ran a spec analysis, check it out below. I guess it means that spoon does exist. Hopefully all will be revealed in June at E3.
