Warner Bros knew Arkham Knight PC had problems but believed it was good enough

Warner Bros knew that the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight had all the issues gamers reported after launch, yet they still believed the game was good enough to release. Not the explanation I was waiting for.

A quality tester who worked on Arkham Knight leaked the sordid details to Kotaku, and it was later confirmed by an addition inside source.

“I will say that it’s pretty rich for WB to act like they had no idea the game was in such a horrible state,” said one quality assurance tester who worked on the game for years. “It’s been like this for months and all the problems we see now were the exact same, unchanged, almost a year ago.”

And it gets even worse.

Warner Bros can't blame someone else for the broken game, as Iron Galaxy, the company that worked on the PC port, only did “additional engineering and PC support.” Warner Bros, Rocksteady and Iron Galaxy worked together on the PC version, but at the end of the day the buck stops at Warner Bros.

I am really struggling to wrap my head around this. Why on earth would Warner Bros deliberately release a broken game? Did Mortal Kombat X teach them nothing? Did they not see the fallout from 2014's broken games? I find it so unbelievable that I'm kinda hoping Kotaku's sources are not telling the truth.

We know Warner Bros is working on fixing the PC version, but we have no release date yet, and with the Kotaku leak I don't think PC gamers will bother to support Arkham Knight. And that when the PlayStation 4 version looks spectacular.

Warner Bros, this is not how PC gamers should remember the end of the Batman Arkham series.
