Retailer leaks image of new Xbox One controller

On Thursday last week Microsoft announced via a product listing on the official Xbox support page that a new Xbox One controller will release "after June 2015." The logical assumption was that Microsoft will reveal the new controller on June 15th at the E3. However, Microsoft confirmed to Polygon that "the team is focused on showcasing more games and experiences at E3 but has nothing else to share at the moment."

Yesterday Australian retailer, Libro, leaked images of the new Xbox One controller. Libro pulled the images, but, of course, not after it was captured.

As you can see, the controller is called, "Cover Forces" and it looks much the same as the original Xbox One controller. The only important changes are its military look and the addition of a 3.5mm headphone jack. That means Xbox One users would be able to purchase other headphones and not only official Microsoft products.

If the information is correct, then it's a good move from Microsoft as the PlayStation 4 controller already allows for the use of other audio devices. What do you think of the alleged new Xbox One controller? Hopefully, we'll have an official announcement from Microsoft soon.
