Teen wants to impress Xbox Live friends. Makes bomb threats against school

Staten Island Advance reports that a 15-year old was arrested for making repeated bomb threats to Susan Wager High School in Staten Island New York. What would possess a person to do such a thing? In this case it was to impress newly formed Xbox Live friends.

"The teen was egged on by his online friends, whom he met playing an Xbox game, a source said. It's not clear which game they were playing."

Police arrested the teen and charged him with making terrorist threats and aggravated harassment. Because of his age police are keeping his name from the media and he'll also be tried in a family court and not a criminal court.

According to the Staten Island Advance source "The teen sent an e-mail to the Susan Wagner principal on Thursday, suggesting he empty out the school before it explodes. The administration evacuated the school, located at 1200 Manor Road in Sea View. After police arrived and searched the building, the teen sent another e-mail saying, "Good job bringing the dogs. Check every class,"

On the Monday he sent another e-mail saying "Hey, congrats, man. You missed all four bombs. In (sic) blowing them up in 20 minutes."

He was arrested the Tuesday.

What some people won't do to get attention. As we always point out, it's not a gaming issue, put the blame where it belongs.
