Notice is hereby given to existing Bulk Internet Messaging Customers that MWEB Business is required to ensure that the SMS gateway used to transmit bulk SMS is compliant with the WASPA (Wireless Application Service Providers’ Association) Code of Conduct. The WASPA Code of Conduct is intended to ensure service quality and to protect consumers. The latest version of the WASPA Code is available at http://waspa.org.za.
Please note that the SMS Functionality will be discontinued with effect from the 1st of December 2010 due to the fact that the SMS gateway is currently not compliant with the WASPA Code. Please note that the bulk email functionality forming part of the BIM Service offering is not affected by the WASPA Code and therefore MWEB will continue to provide the BIM Services to you as per your agreement with MWEB.
In light of the above, MWEB Business has amended the terms and conditions by deleting all the provisions of the product terms dealing with the bulk SMS including the sending and/or receiving of any bulk SMS.
This amendment will amend your Agreement with MWEB Business with effect from 1 December 2010.
The amended Product Terms can be viewed at Bulk Internet Messaging. You are hereby advised to peruse the amended Product Terms to enable you to understand the effect this amendment has to your Agreement with MWEB Business.
