Log on to the Web SMS page.
Check you have enough SMS credits. Each SMS costs one credit, for example if you send an SMS to 5 people it will cost you 5 credits. If you do not have enough credits, select the Buy more Web SMSs button and follow the instructions to purchase more credits before continuing. Find out about Web SMS rates.
Type a cellphone number into the cell number field. If you want to send the SMS to more than one person select Add another number after entering the number. As you press Add another number the cellphone numbers the SMS will be sent to will appear below.
You can also send messages to recipients or groups from your contact list by selecting Add/Remove from contact list.
The system will only send a single message per cellphone number, this means that if you select two groups and the same person’s details is in both groups, then that person will only receive one SMS. Learn more about managing your contact list.
Once you have entered all the recipients you can start typing text of your SMS into the message box.
Your SMS can be maximum 160 characters long. As you type the “Characters used” counter will decrease to help you keep track of how many characters you still have available.
Choose a SMS type. A “Text” SMS is a normal SMS. A “Flash” SMS shows up immediately on their screen.
A Flash SMS does not automatically get saved in the cellphone’s inbox; the receiver must choose to save it.
If you do not want the SMS sent immediately, select the Send Later option. A popup will appear where you can select a time and date and the SMS will be sent within 15 minutes of that date/time. To cancel it, select Cancel Delayed Sending.
Selecting the Send SMS button will take you to the message confirmation page, where you can view your message, and change the recipient list.
If you are happy with your SMS, select the Send SMS button to send your message.
