As an existing MWEB ADSL customer, when can I expect to be automatically migrated onto the new ADSL uncapped product?
We will be migrating our existing customer’s onto our new Uncapped products in batches, starting with the first batch on the 1st April.
Do I get a free router when I sign up for one of MWEB's Uncapped ADSL products?
You do not get a free router when signing up for any of our ADSL products. Routers can be purchased via our Sales Call Centre or our Member Shop at a cost of R599, which includes delivery costs.
If I currently have a 384Kbps ADSL line and I sign up for the Uncapped ADSL 512Kbps product, would I have a download speed of 512Kbps?
Your connection speed is limited to the speed of your ADSL Line, if you have a 384Kbps ADSL line the maximum download speed you would achieve on any of the uncapped products would be 384Kbps. It is advisable to select an uncapped product that matches your ADSL line speed
I am a current MWEB ADSL user and my existing account has high speed (4Mbps), with a 5GB cap (R579 all inclusive). I don't need 4Mbps uncapped (R899), and I don't think I want to go down to 512Kbps (R599).
There are no other migration options besides the 2 mentioned above are closest to your current package/pricing, however you are welcome to stick with your current package/pricing.
Do I have to pay via debit order or can I pay via EFT?
You can only pay via debit order at the moment, as we do not accept EFT transfers or Bank deposit payments.
How can you call it uncapped if there's a base cap?
There is NO base cap. This applies only to our CAPPED products.
Uncapped = uncapped, no less than that. Our terms and conditions cover all our ADSL products (both capped and uncapped) so those references to ‘base cap’ or ‘cap’ refer only if you choose to signup to our capped products.
