MWEB Network Status Notices

How to read & understand the network status notices.

We record outages into 4 categories:

ADSL: All Telkom ADSL outages affecting a customer’s ADSL connection will be displayed in this category. Local ADSL outages will specifically display the name of the area (eg. Benoni) & the first 6 digits of the ADSL line (eg. 011- 420) so customers with their ADSL line starting with those 6 digit s will be affected only if the outage has the following: Status: Open

DIAL: All dialup & ISDN outages affecting a customer’s connection will be displayed in
this category. The outage will specifically show the area which is/are affected by displaying
the name of the area (eg. Knysna) so dialup / ISDN customers calling from Knysna will be
affected by the outage only if the outage has the following: Status: Open.

WIRELESS: All wireless (Vodacom, iBurst, MTN) outages affecting a customer’s
connection will be displayed in this category. The outage will specifically show the area
which is/are affected by displaying the name of the area (eg. Bloemfontein) so customers
calling from Bloemfontein will be affected by the outage only if the outage has the
following: Status: Open.

OTHER: This category will display outages which are not related to a customer’s
connectivity but to all other services (eg. unable to access Email or Message Center etc.)
and has the following: Status: Open

NB: Outages with Status: Closed are historical and will have a start & end date which indicates
the period that the outage was active.
