Once again our South African Dota 2 team will be called upon to battle it out on behalf of our country, this time against Mexico. The MWEB MCave will proudly host the team on Sunday 08.09 at 7pm, with live streaming of the match via our Live Events Page.

The press release from Mind Sports South Africa refers:

South Africa played against Romania in its 1st official Dota 2 on-line Test Match. The Romanian Federation is currently ranked third in the world, and the Romanians taught the South African team some valuable lessons.

However, the spirit of the South African Protea Team remains high as they ready themselves for battle against the Mexican team. This test match is to be played on Sunday, 8 September 2013 at 19H00.

The Mexican team is without doubt one of the most passionate Dota 2 teams that exist.

Coupled with the Mexican team's passion is a ruthless dedication to the game, It is this passion and dedication that has made the Mexican team one of the most respected Central American teams.

The Mexican team also plays in pro-gaming events under the name of 'HATBLADE' has a truly impressive gaming record having notched up 24 wins and having only lost 6 games.

This is, indeed, not a team to be trifled with!

The captain of the Mexican team (Fergus)  is oft heard to exclaim that he is first and foremost a gamer and life is just a hobby!

Again MWEB has kindly allowed the MSSA to use its MCAVE which is located in its head office in Cape Town.

The venue was used for the first test match and proved to be an absolutely fantastic venue.

The National Team that will represent South Africa, is without doubt the finest, and strongest group of Dota 2 players in the country.

The team consists:

Anthony Hodgson *
Mohamed Wasim Lorgat
Dylan Probyn
Justin Probyn
Wesley Rose

With eSports now recognised as a fully recognised sport by both SASCOC and the government, gaming is now taken more seriously than ever before. Already gaming has been included into the Asian Games by the Asian Olympic Committee.

There is no doubt that the South African team has its work cut out for it. TheMexicans are not an easy match, and each South African team member is determined to give his all.

But more than that, it should be fun....
