DCM8 Clan Profile

We're not completely sure who DCM8 plans to decimate considering the number of members they have, but their leader RedRocket is a nice enough chap, so we reckon the world is probably safe for now.

You are a new-ish clan on the Xbox 360 scene – when did you form and what is the clan’s game of choice?

Games of choice are Black Ops 2 and MW3. We formed early last year, with idea that being able to play online with clan mates as a team is more enjoyable.

How many members are you currently?  Keen to give out their names, credit card details and ID numbers?
Alright, only Gamertags will do.

Currently there are 4 of us…..RedRocket ZA, HybridOrc, Th3 DeVil ZA and Ginton99.

Does the clan have an organisational structure?   Or is it a free-for-all?

No real organisational structure really, I am the clan leader as per our Elite page, but everyone has equal say.

How often do you try to play together as a clan?

We don’t have set times or anything like that, it’s viewed as more a social gaming night when everyone can get on, but usually one or some of us on most days. I’ll usually just text the other guys when I’m going to play and they’ll join if they can. It’s the same from their side.

Have you participated in any tournaments yet?  Won any?

Nope, no tournaments yet. We’ve played a few clan matches but nothing serious.

Do you consider yourselves a competitive clan, or one in it more for the “shit and giggles”?

Right now, definitely “shits and giggles”. We try keeping it fun and casual most if the time, and may in the future get a little serious for a few tournies, but we also don’t want drama and the pressure of trying to be super competitive to get in the way of why we game in the first place.

Do you guys enjoy attending LANs?  If so, which?

What other games entertain the DCM8 massive?

Formula 1, Forza 4, Far Cry 3….anything really. As a clan we mostly play MW3 and Blops 2 though.

Are you guys actively recruiting for new players?  If so, how should a potential member contact you and how do you decide on who is right to join you?

New members are always welcome, as long as they share the general idea behind our clan and can fit into our party chat antics…..we’re all over 30….anyone interested in joining can email me at or message me on live (RedRocket ZA).

What are you hoping to achieve in the future as a clan?

We don’t have specific goals as such. I guess if we were trying to achieve anything, it would be to have a bunch of guys that enjoy playing and are reasonably competitive in the games we play (after all, we all want to win)…..but not get so serious about it that you have to dashboard all the time to protect your stats.

In regards to professional – or competitive gaming – what do you as a clan think needs to be done to raise the profile of South African gaming?

As with most things I think exposure and financial backing in terms of sponsors and advertising….

Right, let’s have a little fun…

If you weren’t a gaming clan you’d be…

sitting with the wife watching Greys Anatomy at night.

War movie that best describes the clan – Platoon or Tropic Thunder?

Tropic Thunder

If you guys had a music soundtrack for going to war, what would it be?

There’s only one song worthy……Never Gonna give you up by Rick Astley.

Thanks for your time – is there anything you would like to add before you head back out to do battle?

Yes, we don’t really listen to Rick Astley……ever. [Suuuuurrrreee...]

Please note: Clan Q&A’s can be conducted up to eight weeks before they are published so some information may already have changed.
