Some new gameplay footage has been released on GTPlanet of Gran Turismo 6 after the hasty May 15th reveal. The new physics engine and work with KW Automotive and Yokohama appeared to be paying off. An arcade time attack was shown with a rolling start onto the start of the Silverstone circuit. Other feedback included a greater sense of immersion felt while handling the KTM X-Bow. A more accurate feel of grip was also reported and graphics, as per usual were stellar. Sound however was from a single-channel output and could not accurately be assessed.
Other interesting details noted were the inclusion of a helmet camera, more detailed animations such as the suspension working while moving over the bumps. The replay system was also shown off with true-to-life cameras showing the action not only from above but also from the sidelines. Smooth animations and great lighting effects were also highlights of the video.
Hopefully Polyphony Digital will have learned some lessons from its competition with regards to online gameplay and overall game structure and will improve on these with GT6.
Gran Turismo 6 will be released on the PlayStation 3 and be boasting around 1200 cars. Rumours are also floating around that Sony is considering a separate PlayStation 4 version. A demo of GT6 will be available during July, 2013 and potential release times are the fourth quarter of same year.
