So, who could be more interesting than the current controversial President of Egypt that once renowned ancient civilisation, that's now become the world's 85th tourist destination? Why, a video game designer of course, Duh!
Yes, according to voters on Time Magazine's Time 100 Poll, Minecraft creator and Mojang co-founder Markus "Notch" Persson is the second most influential and popular guy of 2013. Right behind Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi who took the top spot in the poll. Voting for the poll ended on Friday and once the Time editors weigh in, the final list of 2013's influencers will be outed on 18th April.
When the poll closed Persson racked up an impressive 156,694 "Absolutely" votes compared to Morsi's 173,091. That's a pretty narrow margin, but the poll also includes the less encouraging "No Way' votes, where Morsi outstrips Persson 220,907 to 18,694. Persson is the only game developer on the list. Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom, landed in third place with 117,283 "Absolutelys" and 16288 "No Ways". Other people you may know on the list include, Jackie Chan, Psy, Jennifer Lawrence, North Korea's Kim Jong Un and Pussy Riot. Truthfully I have no idea who Pussy Riot is, but this is the internet, I figure at least one of you does know.
