What's missing from our knowledge of the PlayStation 4?

So, if you know anything about gaming, you know that the PlayStation 4 was given its official debut last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York (how fancy!). What a disappointment then that the “VIP guest” was not there to attend. For those of you who don’t understand anthropomorphism; what I am telling you is that the physical presence (or any images) of the console was distinctly lacking in that there wasn’t any. This marketing strategy - because that is what it is - was clearly very effective as every e-journalist now has his y-fronts (nerds don’t wear boxers) or her [granny] panties in a twist attempting to out-speculate each other as to what the console is actually going to be like.

One thing we can most probably confirm thanks to the folk at is that the console will allow gamers to play pre-owned titles (although this is based on hearsay so don’t quote me on this).

According to Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios at Sony Computer Entertainment (speaking to, the console wasn’t displayed because

"The console is just a box."

However, he also said that the console wasn’t displayed because "…we need something to show off later," and wouldn’t confirm whether will get to see it at E3 gaming expo either. We also don't have an official release date. Ugh, the suspense!

What this has actually told us about the PlayStation 4 is pretty much everything and nothing. Another thing that scares me is that we don’t know how much it’s going to cost either, which means start saving now because it’s probably going to be a f***tonne. Well played Sony, you are a sadistic and twisted bunch.
