Developers CD Projekt RED have officially announced The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. It seems that this might be the final title in the series and if so, the story looks to end on a note of the highest pitch.
One fun addition is that players will now be able to obtain mounts (because riding on horsies is always great). Another is boats: gamers will now be able to sail themselves to whichever location strikes their fancy.
Speaking to giantbomb.com, studio boss Adam Badowski said
“Technology has progressed to where we can finally tell the story the way we want, with the visuals we want, in the world we imagined.”
And what a world indeed.
The game is apparently 30x larger than the previous instalments and is designed to present players with a completely open world in the manner of The Elder Scrolls. In order that players can completely immerse themselves in the RPG experience, The Witcher 3 will not include any annoying Quick Time Events – gamers will have to rely on intuition alone as they navigate their way around the game.
It suggested that The Witcher 3 is to be released for forthcoming fancy consoles as well as PC. Although we won’t be able to play it until 2014 sometime, take a look at the official teaser trailer released yesterday:
