In recent weeks since the Sandy Hook elementary massacre in Newtown, there has been a huge collision with two high profiled fields in United States of America. These two giants of industry are the gaming industry and the NRA (National Rifle Association). In recent weeks it seems that the republican point of view has been to blame violent video games for the cold blooded murder of 20 kindergarten students. On the flip side of the coin, there has been pressure placed on the NRA. Due to the weapons involved in the horrific tragedy.
This tension has sparked a huge divide between the gaming industry and the NRA, due largely to the fact that the NRA has publically blamed violent video games for the murders. This has obviously upset some individual gamers, as they have felt the need to strike back. How has a gamer struck back? Well in a rather twisted way, by creating a game that allows players to shoot NRA officials.
The game was created by a member of the Encyclopedia Dramatica forums. In the very simplistic game you are equipt with a sniper rifle that allows you to zoom into the official on stage, namely the head of the NRA (Wayne LaPierre). The creatot of the game stated on the forum:
"Share this everywhere, especially gun-nut and anti-game websites," creator and forum user gizmo01942 writes. "Also see if you can't send it in to the NRA somehow, like through the feedback on their website or something."
It seems like the game has been created to intentionally annoy the NRA, in which the goal has been a success. In a recent interview on Fox News
*appologise for the poor quality
The game is titled: Bullet to the head of NRA
As this battle continues do you believe that the NRA has any ground to stand on? Or do are you rather on the Nation Rifle association’s side of the fence? Let us know by commenting below.
