Will the real Sam Fisher please stand up?

The latest gameplay trailer for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the 5th Freedom, must surely have an imposter parading as Sam Fisher. That, or Ubisoft decided on a makeover for the usual stealthy and gun-shy Fisher approach.

I am disappoint.

Stealth was the trademark of the Splinter Cell franchise; it was the one thing that set Fisher apart from the rest of the stubble faced machinegun wielding machos on our digital playground.

Now he is just another man in a rubber suit holding a big gun.

I don’t care much for achievements when I play a video game; in fact, I never do the achievements, except for Sam Fisher’s. I’ve played all the Splinter Cell games just for the challenge of having a perfect stealth score. As gamers, we can shoot before we’ve learned to navigate a choice driven conversation tree, but few have the patience to master the art of stealth.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist releases in March 2013 for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. You can pre-order the game from here for exclusive bonus content.

Check out the gameplay video and drop me a comment on how you would like to play the Sam.
