May is the month where gamers finally jack into the global hackaton with Watch_Dogs, take part in inglorious madness with Wolfenstein: The New Order and immerse themselves in the fiery heart of Bound by Flame.


Bound by Flame

Genre: Action role-playing

Age Restriction: Mature

Mode: Single-player

Synopsis: Bound by Flame lets you play a mercenary possessed by a flame demon. As a victim of this demonic influence, players will have to choose between the powers offered by their host, or to keep their humanity, developing heroic talents instead. Dangers and enemies, becoming more terrifying and fearsome in battle, will be temptations to acquire more power by giving up part of the hero's soul to the demon.

Gameplay: If the player begins the game knowing only the basics of combat, fire magic and assassination, he will be able to specialize by unlocking and improving many skills and powers through 3 different skill trees.

Wolfenstein: The New Order

Synopsis: Wolfenstein: The New Order once again centers around the series’ iconic war hero, B.J. Blazkowicz and this time faces alternate version of the 1960s in which the Nazis won World War II. As the only man capable of rewriting history, with the help of a small group of resistance fighters, infiltrate their most heavily guarded facilities, battle high-tech Nazi legions, and take control of super-weapons that have conquered the earth – and beyond.

Gameplay: The game follows a standard first-person shooter formula with the player taking on enemies over the course of a level. The New Order utilizes a health system in which the player's health is divided into separate sections that regenerate; if an entire section is lost, the player must use a health pack to replenish the missing health.

Synopsis: In Transistor, players assume the role of a young woman who gains control of a powerful weapon after a mysterious group of assailants nearly kills her with it. Now she must fight from street to street against forces that will stop at nothing to recover the weapon. During the course of the adventure, players will piece together the Transistor’s mysteries as they pursue its former owners.

Gameplay: The game combines free movement in real time with a planning mode. When Red's action bar is filled she can enter planning mode. From there the player can map out a series of movements and actions to take (each consuming a bit of the action bar) and then execute them with super-speed. Afterwards Red must dodge enemies until her action meter fills again.

Drakengard 3

Release date:  May 20

Genre: Action role-playing game

Mode: Single-player

Synopsis: The player controls Zero, the main protagonist and antihero, considered a traitor by the Intoners and their followers because of her mission to kill them. Aiding her on her quest is the dragon Mikhail who aids her and is her mount in aerial battle.

Gameplay: Gameplay in Drakengard 3 is typical of the series, featuring hack-and-slash gameplay and aerial combat on dragons. As Zero levels up, weapons grow more powerful and she is able to perform more complicated and damaging attacks. In standard combat on the ground, Zero performs multiple attacks on various enemies, including sweeping moves, ranged attacks, and upward slashes. These can be combined into combos, which fill up Zero's Tension Gauge. As she kills enemies, she becomes soaked in their blood, which activates Intoner Mode, which Zero a decided edge in battle for a limited time.

Ace Combat Infinity

Genre: Arcade, combat flight simulator

Modes: Single-player, multiplayer

Synopsis: "In an alternate-reality 1994, the 5254 Ulysses collides with a fictional moon of Jupiter named Polyphemus. The collision results in a mass of 10,000 meteors that are expected to impact Earth in five years. The world's major powers decide to construct a network of anti-air railgun sites codenamed "Stonehenge", which would destroy the asteroids before they made impact with the Earth. The meteor storm finally strikes Earth in July 1999. The Stonehenge fails to stop the meteors, and the resulting impact event results in up to 20% of the Earth's surface destroyed."

Gameplay: "Ace Combat Infinity features a multiplayer experience alongside the single-player story campaign, known as Online Co-Op Missions. The multiplayer experience is known as a 'competitive co-operative' experience where "skilled aces will form two teams and compete to inflict the most damage on a common enemy."

Genre: Action-adventure

Synopsis: Players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.

Gameplay: Watch_Dogs takes place in a fully simulated living city. Using Aiden's smartphone, you have real-time control over the city's infrastructure. Trap your enemy in a 30-car pileup by manipulating the traffic lights. Stop a train, and then board it to evade the authorities. Narrowly escape capture by quickly raising a drawbridge. Anything connected to the ctOS can become your weapon.

Synopsis & Gameplay: "The game continues the traditional gameplay of the franchise, in which characters from the Mario universe race against each other in go-karts, attempting to hinder their opponents or improve their racing performance using various tools found in item boxes. Returning features from previous installments include motorbikes and 12-player racing from Mario Kart Wii, and hangliders and underwater racing from Mario Kart 7. New to this series include HD visuals and a focus on anti-gravity sections, allowing racers to drive on walls and ceilings."
