This past weekend saw the beginning of the regulated chaos that was the MWEB GameZone Master Series Cape Town LAN. After two grueling days of play and just under 50 games played, we finally had announced a winner of the event. Group Stage Results

The group stages of the competition saw teams competing in a round robin format, where the top two teams from each group would progress to the knock out phase of the tournament. The group phase consisted of 4 teams per group, where a maximum of 3 games were to be played. Matches were decided by that of a best of three maps, meaning that the team first to win two maps would take the win.  A special mention must be given to Team Adept and Team Rize whom manages to progress to the knock out phase without dropping one map.

The knock out phase brought with it the increase in level of competition between the teams. The knock out stage was divided between two days of play with the round of 16 commencing after the close of group play on Saturday. On Sunday we kicked off with the quarter finals where all the action would be streamed live to an audience in the spectator zone as well as online were players from around South Africa tuned in to follow the action.

The team headed up by Opulence Nexus took on Team Adept in the finals, and in a match some might say was too close for comfort team Opulence came out on top 3 maps to 1.
