Earthfall PC system requirements, 4K 30FPS on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X and more detailed

Earthfall, the co-op shooter where you team up with friends to blast aliens to bits, will release tomorrow, 13 July 2018. We can’t wait for the full release of the game, as developer Holospark has created something really fun to play together. With that being said, the game has been in Steam Early Access for quite some time and we even did a “Let’s Play” video which you can view at the bottom of this article.

At the time of writing, the game has not launched on the PS4 just yet as it is not on the PS Store. We will keep you updated.

Update ends

Tomorrow, the game will release on PS4 and Xbox One, while moving out of Early Access on Steam. For those with a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X (or maybe both), we’ve got some news to share about the game. On both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, the game will run at 4K and 30 FPS, but there is one big difference on launch.

The PS4 Pro will have Dynamic Range (HDR) support for the game, while the Xbox One X won't. That’s quite a big deal if you ask me because when HDR is done right, it can make a massive visual difference, a lot more than resolution. Thankfully, HDR support will come to the Xbox One S and Xbox One X via a post-launch update, but no release window for the said update has been revealed.

For those PC gamers who’ve been waiting for the game to move out of Early Access on Steam to give it a go (because not everyone likes Early Access things) should take a look at the minimum and recommended system requirements to see if their PC is up to the task of fending off the alien invasion.

PC minimum requirements

  • OS: Windows 7
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4430
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 750 2GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 20 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: SSD Recommended

PC recommended requirements

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: i7-4770
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 20 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: SSD

The PC system requirements look quite decent, except for this one part about “SSD Recommended” while a recommended i7 CPU also seems a bit harsh, especially since I’ve always felt an i5 can handle just about anything at high clock speeds.
