The Division has surely seen a major transformation since launch. It suffered from the same game drought as most MMOs do but slowly Ubisoft worked hard to release content and changes to the game that added countless hours to the experience. With the growing success of the game, there was no doubt we would see a sequel in the pipeline and today Ubisoft confirmed that they are working on The Division 2.

According to the Ubisoft Blog, Ubisoft is still dedicated to working on the current game and along with updates and Global Events, they will also be bringing Xbox One X enhancements to the game soon to. However, apart from the support for the first game, Ubisoft sees it as a starting chapter for a larger saga which now leads to Tom Clancy's The Division 2.

Led by Ubisoft Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Bucharest, The Division 2 will mark an even greater step for Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's series. The game will be powered by an advanced version of the stunning Snowdrop Engine that will allow the team to create a more ambitious open world and sequel. Ubisoft states that they will use everything they have learned over the past two years and apply it toward the sequel to make sure they get it right.

Ubisoft will be adding a new type of achievement into The Division called "Shields" that will unlock special rewards in the sequel for players who unlock them.

Ubisoft announced that they will debut the game at E3 2018 so prepare to see what they have been working on.
