South African Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition upgrade price revealed

Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition.jpg

Back in January when Square Enix announced the Royal Edition of Final Fantasy XV they also included a price for the upgrade pack for those who already own the base game. However, soon after the announcement Square Enix retracted that price and announced that they will reveal the upgrade pack closer to the release of the Royal Edition.

Browsing the South African PlayStation Store this morning I came across the upgrade pack and it will set you back R239. The pack will basically turn your Final Fantasy XV into the Royal Edition so you won't need to go out and buy the new version of the game that hits retail and digital stores today.

The Royal Edition of Final Fantasy XV includes a load of content which is both new and old. The game will come with all the Season Pass content from the original game as well as new additions too such as new Regalia car skins, bosses, and of course the first-person mode.

  • An all-new dungeon - Insomnia City Ruins: Expanded Map
  • New features such as first-person mode, new gear, and new bosses.
  • Armiger Unleashed – after you collect all 13 royal arms, a more action-oriented mode of the Armiger is unlocked
  • Royal Vessel – the boat from FFXV is now a controllable vehicle. The same body of water (between Cape Caem and Altissia) can now be freely explored.
  • All season pass content – Episode Gladiolus, Episode Prompto, Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades, and Episode Ignis.
  • Over a dozen pieces of DLC, including weapons, Regalia car skins, and item sets.
  • The critically acclaimed game – FINAL FANTASY XV.

You can pick up the Royal Pack here for R239 or you can grab the Windows Edition, or console Royal Edition for just around double the price if you don't own the base game already.

  • Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition - R529
  • Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition (PS4) - R639
  • Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition (Xbox One) - R639
  • Final Fantasy XV Royal Pack (Xbox One) - R239
  • Final Fantasy XV Royal Pack (PS4) - R239

Considering the original game released at R1000, this is not a bad price at all for the definitive edition of Final Fantasy XV. I highly recommend you give this a go if you are looking for something new to play.
