SA's biggest video game retailer gets rebranded with new exciting stores

The image above shows off the brand-new BT Games store in Port Elizabeth at the Baywest Mall. It is the first store to sport the new look for BT Games, South Africa’s biggest video game retailer. It is a concept store, showcasing a modern, slick and fresh new look and a brand-new logo for the retailer.

That all sounds very exciting to me as I live close to PE, but if you don’t, fear not. This is just the first new store to open. A new flagship store will also be opening in Sandton City early in April. A new look by the nearly 15-year-old retailer isn’t the only thing to get excited about, not at all.

BT Games is enhancing their range of products with an awesome range of collectable merchandise and gaming lifestyle products, and you can order the new range online soon as well.

In a Press Release, Karl Klöpfer, BT Games’ retailers Marketing Manager, said that:

Launching the new-look store, our enhanced range and shiny new logo is very exciting for us. It’s great to be playing in the gaming retail space in SA, working with an amazing product every day, and we feel proud to introduce a new look store that is really world-class and comparative with our international counterparts. We always ask ourselves how to place our customers first, how to keep reinventing ourselves and how to ensure we are making the experience with our brand more appealing for our customers. Well today we took another step, and you can trust there is always more to come from us as we strive to offer a unique gaming experience and add more value

That sounds awesome and I can’t wait to head on over to the store when I order my next game. With that being said, the new BT Games store doesn’t just offer games, but a wide variety of gaming merchandise as well, from shirts, caps, keyrings and much more. To that end, the BT Games revealed via the Press Release that a lot of the floor space in the new stores will be dedicated to new “gaming lifestyle products”, which include officially licenced items, namely:

  • Difuzed, by Bioworld. BT Games has been keen to get the range of products into their stores for some time and now it’s a reality. Highlights of the lifestyle product range includes Nintendo’s Mario and Zelda merchandise and Ubisoft’s much-loved Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry 5 branded goods. And that’s not just  T-shirts – the caps, hoodies, wallets, key rings and other items are all great quality and really unique. We gamers deserve to stand out in style.
  • J!NX. The J!NX Brand combines fanaticism about gaming with a passion for quality clothing. The brand focusses on comfort, fit and style, and BT Games will carry a range including merchandise from franchises like Overwatch, Minecraft, The Witcher and more.”

But what if you just want to buy some games? Well, you are in luck as the new store in Baywest also has some launch specials valid for this Saturday only.

There will be a tonne of specials and they do sound really great. BT Games didn’t mention everything that will be on sale, but did reveal the following:

  • Save R1800 on an Xbox One S 1TB console with Fifa 18 and a 3-month LIVE membership - R4499.90
  • Save R1000 on a PS4 Pro console with GT Sport and Horizon Zero Dawn
  • Sony DualShock 4 controller for only R699.90
  • Save up to R500 on selected games, including Destiny 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Need for Speed, Tekken 7 and more.

It is important to note that stocks will be very limited and that deals will have a limit of one per customer, with no reservations or dealers allowed.

I, for one, love the new look of the store and it seems as if the new BT Games stores are a one-stop destination for all your gaming needs, from hardware to merchandise and, of course, the all-important games.
