Hunt: Showdown now on Steam Early Access and System Requirements revealed

Hunt Showdown Early Access.jpg

Hunt: Showdown, developed by Crytek and of course, running on the CryEngine, wasn’t really on my radar until Marco did an article and video about five Battle Royale to play in 2018 that are not PUBG or Fortnite. Since then, I’ve been waiting for the game to release on Steam, as it does look extremely interesting and fun to play.

Well, the wait wasn’t long at all as Hunt: Showdown has now been released on Steam Early Access and anyone can join the hunt right now if you are willing to fork out R319. For those of you who don’t know anything about the game, read the short description below before we continue.

Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person bounty hunting game with heavy PvE elements, from the makers of Crysis. Set in the darkest corners of the world, it packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format. Hunt’s competitive, match-based gameplay mixes PvP and PvE elements to create a uniquely tense experience.

At the beginning of each match, up to five teams of two set out to track monstrous targets. Once they’ve found and defeated one of these they will receive a bounty - and instantly become a target for every other Hunter left on the map. The higher the risk, the higher the reward–but a single mistake could cost everything.” – Source

Come on, that sounds awesome, doesn’t it? The next big question, of course, is if your PC is up to the task of running the game and let’s face it, CryEngine has its moments as we all know.

Hunt: Showdown System Requirements

Thankfully, it doesn’t look like the system requirements are all that high, so check them out below and find out if your gaming rig has what it takes.

Recommended

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

If you have a gaming rig with parts released in the last four years or so, you should be able to play the game at least, in my opinion. However, it is important to remember that the game is in Early Access, so performance issues might occur even if you are above the recommended requirements.

Sometimes it is difficult to take the Early Access plunge, but since this is a big developer, jumping in now might not be as risky. With that being said, I am extremely excited about Hunt: Showdown and will hopefully be trying it out soon.

Check out the Early Access launch trailer below and then tell us if you will be taking the Early Access plunge with Hunt: Showdown.
