Xbox Live Games with Gold for March is 'Superhot'

Games with Gold.jpg

February's Games with Gold packed a punch, while the March free games lineup includes at least one great title. The remaining three titles include two that most gamers will probably not be super excited to play and one that will make puzzle game lovers very happy. All in all, March isn't a fantastic month, but it is also not a bad month - unless you've already played Superhot.

You still have a few days to download some of the February Games with Gold, so make sure you grab the free titles you want to add to your library.

Leaving Games with Gold

  • Shadow Warrior (Xbox One until 28/02)
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India (Xbox One until 15/03)
  • Crazy Taxi (Xbox 360 / Xbox One until 28/02)
  • Split/Second (expired)

Entering Games with Gold

  • Trials of the Blood Dragon (Xbox One, 1-31 March)
  • Superhot (Xbox One, 16 March - 15 April)
  • Brave: The Video Game (Xbox One & Xbox 360, 1-15 March)
  • Quantum Conundrum (Xbox One & Xbox 360, 1-31 March)

Ubisoft released Trials of the Blood Dragon in 2016, and it received mostly negative reviews from critics and fans. It was severely criticized for its terrible platforming and shooting mechanics, while some praised it for its soundtrack and aesthetics. The game includes 30 missions across seven worlds, with a variety of bikes, vehicles, and jetpacks.

If you enjoy adventure games, then you might want to give Brave: The Video Game a try. It's based on the movie, and you play as Mérida who undertakes a quest to cleanse the world from a curse that changed her mother into a bear.

Quantum Conundrum is a puzzle-platformer, and unlike the previous two titles, it received favourable reviews from fans and critics. You might not know this, but the lead designer who worked on Portal directed Quantum Conundrum. The game is played in a first-person perspective and is set in a beautifully crafted world.

The highlight for March's Games with Gold is Superhot. It's a first-person shooter where you use different weapons to take out enemies, but it's unlike traditional shooters because it has a very strong strategy game mechanic in that time only progresses when the player moves. It's not the usual run and shoot'em up, as the player also has very limited ammo, and one hit from the enemy means it's game over. The whole game is set in a minimalistic environment, further adding to the disorientation players can experience.

Superhot will be unlike any game in the genre you've ever played.
